Considered Portugal’s most important business recognition, PME Excellence Status was established in 2009 and swiftly became a hallmark of reputation, enabling businesses to engage with clients, suppliers, the financial system, and national and regional authorities on a foundation of trust that facilitates business development.

SME excellence companies are selected by IAPMEI and Turismo de Portugal from the universe of PME Líder awarded SMEs. The 2022 edition conferred this status upon a total of 3922 companies, acknowledging their merit and contribution to the national economy.
